For the record, I never turn off my runmeter. Time is irrelevant to me. That is why there are such great fluctuations in my daily run times (from 5 1/2 hours to 7 1/2 hrs). I am only concerned with completing each marathon. So when I stop at a convenience store, wait in line to buy a Gatorade, or when I bump into someone I haven't seen for a while, or when I stop to take a picture, or even just take in the moment when I have taken a picture my clock never stops. When I run, I pretty much maintain a light and easy 12 minute mile, beginning to end. I call it my all day pace.
My favorite feedback from yesterday:
- "Totally inspired from Pittsburgh PA. You have a lot of followers across the country that could care less about your time. Keep doing your thing". - Mike K.
1,913 MILES OF RUNNING SO FAR IN 2012 AFTER TODAY'S MARATHON
MILE 1 - 30 degrees, clear skies and no wind. Perfect!...
MILE 2 - Picture perfect day!...
MILE 3 - One of the benefits of starting my run at six in the morning is that I get Pettibone park pretty much all to myself at arguably the most beautiful time of the day....
MILE 4 - The sun is finally up!...
MILE 5 - The legs tend to start off tight and the feet sore, but now everything is good!...
MILE 6 - Taking too many pictures again. I Can't help it though. Such a beautiful day!...
MILE 7 - Time for some running music...
MILE 8 - "Don't cry" by GNR now playing...
MILE 9 - Feeling great so far today...
MILE 10 - The earlier I start in the day I have noticed it is much harder to start, but I feel way better at this point of the run than on days I start later!...
MILE 11 - Re-loaded on electrolytes...
MILE 12 - Just had a great thought; What if you kept asking yourself, "what's your hurry?" And then notice how the question automatically helps you slow down and just be!...
MILE 13 - Anytime that I catch myself slowing down at anything, the more I enjoy it and the more alive I feel...
MILE 14 - Heading back to the north and grateful the wind isn't pushing me back like it has at this spot the last three days!...
MILE 15 - What an incredibly gorgeous day!
MILE 16 - Warming up quickly!!!
MILE 17 - I called in the support vehicle (a.k.a.. my son). The temp has come up so much I am switching gear at this point....
MILE 18 - Much better except someone drank my coffee ;)
MILE 19 - For some reason I am really craving Columbian coffee right now!
MILE 20 - I feel much lighter with less gear. Go figure!...
MILE 21 - Pacing again!! Life is good!
MILE 22 - Back into a perfect pace!...
MILE 23 - Another day feeling great at this far into the marathon...
MILE 24 - It is amazing how much easier the later miles of a long run can be when you have company! Eric came through again after logging 14 miles yesterday!
MILE 25 - Definitely one of the best runs to date. I feel terrific...
MILE 26 - This part of the marathon is becoming my favorite part lately because of how much better my legs and feet are doing at this point!
