18 Marathons in 18 days

471 MILES IN 18 DAYS
1,624 miles in 2012

MILE 1 - Official start time - 8:22 a.m. 44 degrees and cloudy right now with a high of 73 and sunny. It does not get any better than that in Wisconsin! Life is good. Right now I feel amazing and know that I am incredibly blessed to do this...

MILE 2 - Dreaming of the day I can consistently do this in four hours!...

MILE 3 - Sun has already made an appearance!...

MILE 4 - It is very quickly becoming a gorgeous day and I feel amazing right now. In the fall of 2010 I completed 59 marathons in 59 days (behind the fence) and I remember feeling this way at mile 25. That is why I know I will feel that way again (this summer). Until then, patience...

MILE 5 - Haven't felt this good in weeks!...

MILE 6 - Finished first 5 miles in exactly one hour - now I just have to do that four more times!...

MILE 7 - "What one can do, so can another"...

MILE 8 - Not a cloud in the sky and still maintaining pace...

MILE 9 - It always amazes me that what ever we focus on we experience and we are able to choose what we think just by awareness...

MILE 10 - So life really IS what you make it!!!...

MILE 11 - Clouded over again! Had to put the shirt back on - still 46 degrees!...

MILE 12 - Almost forgot to mention, first ten miles were completed in exactly two hours! Time for a peanut butter and banana sandwich and coffee, no cheetos today!...

MILE 13 - Still going strong...

MILE 14 - Running into the breeze now. Need the sun to come back out!...

MILE 15 - Slowing down a bit. (Not on purpose!)...

MILE 16 - This is where the work begins, physically and mentally...

MILE 17 - Conquering the hills. Perfect time for it to warm up!...

MILE 18 - Time to suck it up and pick up the pace!...

MILE 19 - The sun is out again, it feels a lot warmer than 48 degrees...

MILE 20 - This is the part of the run that I try to visualize my long term goals, in the present tense. I don't want to just visualize the goals, I want to feel them already realized...

MILE 21 - It's like I tweeted a few miles back - from here on it is just about pain management!...

MILE 22 - It is a magnificent day to endure the pain...

MILE 23 - REALLY looking forward to the days that I can just float effortlessly through these final miles...

MILE 24 - This is the part of the run that I begin to question my own sanity!

MILE 25 - How can something begin so effortless and finish so difficult?!...

MILE 26 - Time to finish this and enjoy the next 8 hours with the kids!!!...

FINISH - MAP AND STATS  - Started strong and effortless - Finished slow and difficult!
