19 MARATHONS IN 19 DAYS

497.8 MILES IN 19 DAYS!
1,650 MILES IN 2012!

MILE 1 - Today's forecast was rain, now it looks like a carbon copy of yesterday! With more sunshine though. For the record, the hardest part of this is starting - remind me of that at mile 23, I may disagree with that statement by then!...

MILE 2 - After yesterday's faster 13 miles followed by a real slow 13 miles today's goal is consistency...

MILE 3 - All systems good!...

MILE 4 - Maintaining comfortable 13 min mile - now to just hold that for the next 20 miles or so!...

MILE 5 - The easier we make it for ourselves to succeed, the more probable the success becomes...

MILE 6 - Easier translates to more enjoyable which translates into consistency which of course leads to inevitable success...

MILE 7 (12:45 avg pace) - If that all sounds so obvious, why is it so easy to forget?

MILE 8 - With all that being said, as obvious as this sounds, the goal for today's marathon is to keep it easy and enjoyable, which is a good idea because I am going straight into a stiff breeze!...

MILE 9 - In retrospect I believe that I have made these first three weeks more difficult than they need to be. I have repeatedly compared myself to other runners and felt the need to be faster...

MILE 10 - It probably wouldn't hurt to cut back on the Cheetos as well. Maybe more raw almonds! So far today I have been fueling this run with raw almonds and coffee!...

MILE 11 - Maintaining 12:58 avg pace feeling good so far!..

MILE 12 - A few more miles and this wind will be at my back!...

MILE 13 - Still going strong (slow, but strong)...

MILE 14 - This is where the run really begins for me...

MILE 15 - maintaing average pace of 13:15/mile

MILE 16 - Skipped the Peanut Butter and banana sandwich today and sticking with raw almonds, honey and coffee!...

MILE 17 - This is the part of the journey that my legs want to walk, but I don't!...

MILE 18 - Close to 60 degrees. All things considered, I feel good...

MILE 19 - Feet better than yesterday at this point. I have noticed that every time I attempt to speed up the pace, my feet hurt more. How obvious is that observation!....

MILE 20 - Feeling way better than I was yesterday at this point!...

MILE 21 - Cool cloud formations today!...

MILE 22 - Definitely feeling better than yesterday at this point...

MILE 23 - Don't even care about pace anymore, just enjoying a nice easy run focusing on light feet and feeling great as a result!...

MILE 24 - Another gorgeous day of running almost completed...

MILE 25 - I feel good even at mile 25, all I had to do was stop trying to speed up my pace. 20 years from now it probably won't matter how fast I went!..

MILE 26 - Almost there. I enjoyed today so much I just might do this again tomorrow!...

FINISHED - OFFICIAL MAP AND STATS

  1. No need to compare yourself to others, very few can do what you have accomplished , the goal is to get it done. You can do this :)
