20 MARATHONS COMPLETED IN 20 DAYS

524 MILES IN 20 DAYS
1,676 MILES IN 2012

MILE 1 - A gorgeous day to attempt a repeat of yesterday's marathon. Focusing on the feet and landing light...

MILE 2 - Still going :) ...
Running with Kahlen (mi hijo)

MILE 3 - I already know that this is gonna be a great day, I hope that it is contagious...

MILE 4 - What if we actually slowed down and made a conscious effort to live today as if it were our last? Any and all stress vanishes instantly!...

MILE 5 - Today's goal: Make this look easy. So far, so good!...

MILE 6 - Starting to cloud over, cooling down a bit, time for another shirt!..

MILE 7 - Feet definitely feeling better than they were a few days ago...

MILE 8 - Wind to my back today for the first half so I am enjoying it while I have it. Will be running straight into it the second half...

MILE 9 - This is one of those days when the sun is showing it is very warm and when it is hidden it is very cool. At least it's not raining!...

MILE 10 - As my legs and feet are finally adjusting to the daily marathon, I am noticing that the challenge is becoming more mental than physical...

MILES 11 & 12- Not a mental challenge completing the marathon. Mentally, my mind is made up, and there really is nothing more powerful than a made up mind. One day at a time, I am doing this. The mental difficulty I am referring to is how to balance family life, running, and work. When This seed of an idea was planted three years ago I really believed with thousands of hours and thousands of miles of preparation a platform this epic would assure a book deal and corporate sponsorship. Thus allowing me to run while the kids are in school and be home from three in the afternoon everyday while still taking care of my financial responsibilities and doing what I love most, inspiring others. After six years away from home, that was the dream, now I find myself on nights like last night getting home from work just after ten at night! I am now seriously contemplating running in the very early hours of the morning and attempting to be done by eight in the morning! Then, where does the rest come into the equation?! See my point?! I will say this though, I will not stop. If I did, the time that I was away from home would have been wasted. That is the what makes this so difficult mentally. Once I get this all figured out I will let you know. In the meantime, I keep running, remembering that we don't regret what we did in life nearly as much as what we DIDN'T DO!...

MILE 13 - On another note, my son, the one jumping rocks in the picture above at mile two, the one who keeps the coffee coming and makes the sandwiches, told me that last night he had a dream that there was a zombie apocalypse and I continued to run my marathons everyday!...

MILE 14 - Referring back to the balance I seek, for the record, my family is my life. Outside of running and working enough to do my part in paying the bills, I have no other activities outside of my family and the best part is that I know how lucky I am for that!...

MILE 15 - Straight into the wind...

MILE 16 - Time to dig in...

MILE 17 - Covering 26.2 miles is really not that difficult (mind over matter plus three years of conditioning) - What IS difficult is covering 26.2 miles while thinking that this idea that you have prepared for everyday for the last three years believing it was a no-brainer, may NOT have been a no brainer! You could do something this grand in scale and literally achieve nothing as a result. Now THAT is a difficult 26.2 miles!
At least the feet are getting better :)

MILE 18 - Time to just keep on keepin' on...

MILE 19 - Turning out to be a long day...

MILE 20 - "Ramble on"...

MILE 21 - Still goin'...

MILE 22 - How's that go? Oh yeah, without challenge, there is not achievement. Pressing on...

MILE 23 - Just keeping my head down (so I don't look to far ahead) and putting one foot in front of the other...

MILE 24 - If I didn't know any better, I'd say that I feel a second wind coming on! Better late than never I guess!...

MILE 25 - Amazingly, my legs and feet feel great. Not perfect, but way better than they have felt this far into a marathon in a long time...

MILE 26 - Ditto! Still good! Time to go play with the kids!!!

FINISHED - Map in stats linked shortly

    1. Thank you for that - you are amazing for taking the time to help get the story out about what I am doing and am tremendously grateful. Most days I agree what you said about it getting easier. One day at a time. Thanks again.
